2015...
Yup, we're done with 2015. It was a pretty busy one for me. Lots of magazine work, a week-long workshop in Maine, several multi-day corporate photography shoots, artistic projects, the year that I rediscovered film... why don't I just show you some of my favorites from this year. If you like what you see, please look back at the blogs from throughout the year, and please feel free to comment! (The major pieces are linked back to their respective blog posts)
A couple of covers this year, plus a feature for Barron's. What's better than dragging a dolly stacked with gear around Boston's financial district at rush hour? Seriously though, they were all fun shoots!
I was really happy to have been given the chance to feature Lowell's Angkor Dance Troupe in this photo essay for Merrimack Valley Magazine, with the story by Emilie-Noelle Provost.
And a second photo essay, again for Merrimack Valley Magazine with text by Emilie-Noelle Provost, about glass blower Aron Leaman of Mill City Glass Works.
...and many more stories!
But here is a collection of some of my favorite shots from this year; actors, artists, fashion, entrepreneurs, behind-the-scene shots, and more. Click anywhere on the images below to go to my Facebook page to see more.
Happy 2016!
Andre Dubus III for the Cover of Merrimack Valley Magazine
Back in February it seemed, depending upon the day, as if the winter was about to wind down. That didn’t quite work out. The day that we had scheduled to photograph Andre Dubus III, the noted writer who grew up in the Valley, for the cover brought more snow, albeit the light fluffy stuff. Publisher Glenn Prezzano, writer Emilie-Noelle Provost and I arrived at the writer’s home and were quickly welcomed in to get warm by a roaring fireplace. The UMass Lowell faculty member and author of "The House of Sand and Fog”, "Townie: A Memoir" and many other works, was accommodating, helpful and very generous with his time, which makes our job much easier. An encounter that will remain a bright spot in an otherwise bleak winter.

Style... On the Cover
For this month's Merrimack Valley Magazine, I was part of a small army of creatives that were assigned to produce the magazine's fall fashion cover and cover stories. It was a fun day, with stylists, hair and makeup artists, creatives from the magazine, as well as photographer Meghan Moore and myself all working together with our two models to create something beautiful, interesting and hopefully informative. I'll show my cover shot here, but to see the rest of the spread, you will have to check out the magazine. Here though, are some of my favorites, both posed and unposed from that day at historic Coburn Hall, at the UMass Lowell campus in Lowell, Massachusetts.
UUWorld - Kay Montgomery
Recently, I was asked to photograph Kay Montgomery, who will be retiring this June from her role as Executive Vice President of the Unitarian Universalist Association, which she has held for the past 28 years. Her retirement coincides with the moving of its headquarters from its spot immediately adjacent to the Massachusetts State House to a renovated building on Boston's waterfront.

Wired for Sound and More
My latest cover photo for CE Pro magazine profiles a local Boston company that designs and builds systems that integrate technology into residential and commercial spaces. We were invited into a home to view one of their recent projects. It was pretty impressive!

Everyone Loves a Dog on the Cover
Before the premier of the Home issue of the Merrimack Valley Magazine is gone from the shelves, I thought I would post of few of my images from the pages of the magazine. Among other things, it features an extreme makeover in Andover, decorating ideas ranging from antiques to framing, beautiful lofts in Lawrence and a really inspiring Habitat for Humanity project. Oh, did I mention that these shoots were mine?
July 2012 Cover Story for CE Pro Magazine
David Shulman of The Environmental Tech Center - CP Pro Magazine - July 2012
This shoot was a blast. The Environmental Tech Center, in East Boston, which is featured in this month's CE Pro Magazine cover story, is in an unassuming building, but houses some really cool gadgets and an amazing home. David Shulman, who owns the Environmental Tech Center shares the stage in this article with his beautiful home and workplace.

For the May, 2012 issue of Commercial Integrator Magazine, with its distinctive cover style, I was chosen to photograph Atrion Networking senior VP Paul Cronin, of Warwick, R.I., for the cover story. EH Publishing is a great group to work with.

Cover Sandwich - Merrimack Valley magazine
I photograph people. But I sometimes shoot other things! This month's cover of Merrimack Valley Magazine features my food photography. My photos of MassInnovation CEO Robert Ansin for Coffee Talk are shown here as well. These were shot in available light, some of which I brought with me. (sorry for the lighting-geek humor!)
